FiiO has spent more than a decade building headphones, in-ear monitors, portable amplifiers and music players for people who care about how their music sounds. The FG3 is the first time the company has made a gaming headset, and it has approached the category the way it approaches a HiFi product, starting with the driver.
Most gaming headsets at this price use a single full range dynamic driver and rely on software processing to widen the soundstage. The FG3 uses two dynamic drivers, a 50mm and a 16mm, mounted on the same axis so that sound radiates from a single point. An electronic two way crossover splits the frequency range between them. The larger driver carries the mid and low frequencies, which is where explosions land and where teammate voices sit. The smaller driver handles the highs, which is where footsteps, reloads and the rustle of movement live.

The reason this matters for gaming is positional accuracy. When drivers are placed side by side rather than coaxially, phase and directionality drift, and the sense of where a sound is coming from softens. Keeping the point source single keeps that information intact. It is a technique that comes from HiFi loudspeaker and headphone design, and it is unusual to find it in a gaming headset at Rs. 6,999.
The FG3 is available in India now, exclusively at Headphone Zone.
The decoding and amplification are handled properly

Behind the drivers sits a dual core DSP chip that carries the audio processing, along with a DAC that decodes up to 192kHz/24bit. A dedicated headphone amplifier delivers up to 80mW of output power.
The specification that matters most here is latency. In a gaming headset, processing that arrives late is worse than no processing at all, and the dual core architecture exists to keep the audio pipeline fast while still running surround and EQ algorithms. The amplifier stage is there so that quiet detail stays audible without the loud moments compressing.
Six audio modes, and a 7.1 algorithm that knows when to stay out of the way
The FG3 ships with six audio modes. FPS suppresses explosive rumble so that footsteps and positional cues stay exposed. ACT adds impact and weight for action titles. MOBA sharpens ability cues and voice clarity. MUG is tuned for rhythm games, where timing and bass precision matter. Cinema opens the soundstage out for film. Music is a balanced profile for listening.
The custom tuned 7.1 virtual surround algorithm runs in Cinema and ACT only. This is a deliberate choice rather than an omission. Surround processing helps immersion in film and in big action titles, but in competitive FPS and MOBA play it can smear the very positional information a player is listening for. FiiO has left it switched off where it would hurt.
Every mode can be switched with a single press on the inline control, with a colour coded indicator showing which one is active.

Ten band EQ, with no software to install
Settings are handled through FIIO Control WEB, a browser based platform at fiiocontrol.fiio.com. There is no driver to install and no client software to download, which also means the FG3 works on a machine you do not own, like a shared PC or an internet cafe setup.
A ten band custom EQ sits inside it, and profiles can be saved locally on the headset for instant recall.
A microphone built for people who actually talk during games
The detachable microphone runs an ENC algorithm that filters ambient noise directionally, isolating the voice from keyboard clicks, mouse taps and room sound. Real time microphone monitoring, or sidetone, is processed in hardware rather than through the operating system, which keeps the delay between speaking and hearing yourself low enough to be useful. Sidetone can be toggled and its volume adjusted through FIIO Control WEB.

The microphone detaches entirely when the FG3 is being used for music or film. A dedicated mute button with a red indicator sits on the inline control.
Build, comfort and compatibility
The frame folds flat. The headband is stainless steel. The earpads are swappable, using a woven mesh fabric chosen for breathability and sweat resistance over a memory foam base, which matters more than it sounds like it should during a five hour session. The closed back design isolates room noise.
The cable is braided, terminating in Type C, with a USB A adapter in the box. The FG3 switches adaptively between UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0, which is what allows one headset to work across Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11, smartphones, laptops, PS4, PS5, Xbox and Switch without configuration.

“FiiO has been expanding at a pace very few audio companies manage, moving into new categories every year and getting them right. Gaming was the obvious gap. We already see a lot of people gaming with IEMs, especially on mobile, and that is largely because good sound has been easier to find in an IEM than in a headset. What has been genuinely hard to find is a proper gaming headphone from a serious audio brand at a price most gamers in India can actually pay. The FG3 is that. It comes from a company that has spent fifteen years learning how to make things sound right, and it costs Rs. 6,999,” said Mr. Raghav Somani, Founder and CEO, Headphone Zone.
Pricing and availability
The FiiO FG3 is available now at Headphone Zone for Rs. 6,999. It comes with a one year warranty from FiiO covering manufacturing defects.
