KRAFTON India confirmed that the 4.6 update for BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) arrives on September 16, 2026, and gave players their first look at the experience leading it: Midnight Hunters, a supernatural theme mode that turns Erangel into a considerably darker place to survive. The map’s geography stays where players remember it. Almost nothing else does. Hunters, vampires and a set of encounters the game has not carried before arrive with the mode – and in Midnight Hunters, the hunted do not always stay human.
Key Theme Modes:
Midnight Hunters leads the update and runs from September 16 to November 16. Ocean Odyssey, the underwater theme mode players have been asking to see return, comes back to Erangel on September 30 and runs alongside it. Further elements of 4.6 will be detailed separately in the weeks ahead.
A World Reawakened
Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry and Gatka become Vampire Takeover POIs, rebuilt in atmosphere and tied to a new mission set. Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base become the Nightkeeper’s Hunter Guild, a large indoor combat arena with secrets hidden in its tables, bookshelves and murals. Elsewhere on the map, players will find a shooting range built for hunter training, a clock tower that stuns nearby creatures when shot, and Scream Crates that have to be decrypted before they open – fail the decryption and the sound gives away your position.
Not Every Survivor Stays a Hunter
Midnight Hunters introduces a gameplay dynamic BGMI has not offered before. Without revealing the full experience, KRAFTON India has confirmed that players will be able to cross to the other side of the hunt – taking on a new appearance, a new set of abilities, and a very different way to play out a match’s closing minutes.
New Encounters Prowl Erangel
Bloodwalkers hunt on foot. Nightbats attack from the air with sonic waves. Above both sits the Vampire Elder, an ancient bloodline ruler that strengthens the creatures linked to it the longer it survives. Presiding over the other side is the Nightkeeper, an NPC who appears at the Hunter Guild each match and offers players lore and materials – and, eventually, the chance to challenge him directly.
Tools for the Hunt
New themed items arrive with the mode, including the Hunter Bandage for rapid recovery; the Silvermoon Chain, which works as a weapon against creatures, a grappling line across terrain and a defensive shield; and the Twilight Bat Wings, which unlock flight and a new way to move across the battleground.
Availability
The BGMI 4.6 update arrives on September 16, 2026. Midnight Hunters will be playable from that date until November 16, 2026. Trailers, further reveals and complete details will follow on BGMI’s official YouTube, Instagram channels ahead of launch.
