Qualcomm Strengthens Camera Capabilities with Augentix Acquisition

Qualcomm Incorporated announced that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., has completed the acquisition of Augentix, a leading provider of low power image signal processors (ISP) and multimedia SoCs. The move marks a strategic expansion of the Hardware ecosystem for Qualcomm Insight™ platform, reinforcing Qualcomm’s commitment to accelerating innovation in edge AI-powered smart surveillance for enterprise, industrial, and public infrastructure environments.

With this acquisition, Qualcomm Technologies will offer a broader, more configurable portfolio of smart camera solutions ranging from cost-optimized designs to high-performance, enabling solution providers to scale deployments efficiently while maintaining software consistency, unified control and cost efficiency.

The integration of Augentix solutions into the Qualcomm Insight™ platform expands camera choice across deployment zones from low-power sensing devices for low-risk areas, to high-performance analytics-first smart cameras for high-security environments, without fragmenting software stacks, development workflows, or analytics capabilities.
